David Oscar Troxel went to Heaven on March 23, 2021 after a battle with Alzheimers. He was 80 years old and was born in Sargent, Nebraska to the late Raymond Oscar Troxel and Marie Gilligan Troxel and also preceded in death by his step-mother, Dorothy Marsh Troxel. David honorably served his country in the US Army and retired after 35 years of service as a repairman for AT & T. David was a member of the Lamplighters Gospel Quartet, and a dedicated member of Knightdale United Methodist Church for over fifty years.
A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Knightdale United Methodist Church Cemetery, 621 N. First Avenue, Knightdale.
He is survived by his wife of 56 ½ years, Sara Horton Troxel; daughter, Gina Troxel Chambers (Tom); son, Eddie Wheeler (Bobbie); grandson, Max David Chambers, lovingly called “Main Man”; sister, Avalon Biederman; brother, Carl Troxel; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and step-mother, David was preceded in death by his siblings: Clyde, Tom, George, John, Bobby, Betty, Amy, Bernadine, Carol, Wanda, Barbara, Rosemary, Roberta; daughter-in-law, Susie Wheeler.
