David Lincoln Phillips, 87, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 at his home. He was born June 16, 1929 in North Dighton, MA to the late Robert Phillips and Gladys Eddy Phillips. He honorably served his country as a Navy Medic attached to a Marine battalion in the Korean Conflict. During his service he received a purple heart and 2 bronze stars. Mr. Phillips was a retired vocational and special education teacher. 

A service to celebrate his life will be held 11:00 am, Monday, January 9, 2017 at Zebulon United Methodist Church, 121 W. Gannon Ave., Zebulon, North Carolina 27597 with Military Honors. 

The family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the service. 

Inurnment will be held at a later date in Massachusetts. 

Surviving: wife of 63 years, Norma Anne Davis Phillips; son, David S. Phillips (Rosa) Dedham, MA; daughters: Cynthia J. Phillips of Burlington, MA, Cheryl A. Colby (Bryan) of Zebulon; brothers: Raymond E. Phillips of NY, Robert A. Phillips of Taunton, MA; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zebulon United Methodist Church or to your local Hospice.
