David Michael Maddocks, 75, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2020. He was born April 4, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late John Eldridge Maddocks, Sr. and Marion Overly Maddocks. David honorably served his country in the US Army as a helicopter crew chief and made his career in telecommunications and retired from Bellsouth and AT&T. David was thankful to be a lung cancer survivor for 13 years. Dave loved The Lord and was blessed to serve as a deacon, a Sunday school teacher, a bass in the choir, and on several service teams at New Hope Baptist Church. He and Faye enjoyed traveling and were looking forward to another vacation in Europe. Their trip to Israel in 2018 was one of the highlights of his life. They also enjoyed their quarterly visits to Cherry Grove Beach, where Dave loved to read and watch the ocean waves. Spending time with grandchildren was always a delightful pastime for Dave and Faye. Between them, they have thirteen, and each one held a special place in his heart. Family was always a priority for Dave. David enjoyed woodworking, especially turning beautiful bowls and other “round things.” He also enjoyed music, and he and Faye attended many concerts and plays. Dave was loved by many and will be greatly missed!
A service to celebrate David's life will be held at a later date.
