Cynthia "Cindy" (Whitley) Richard

Cynthia “Cindy” Whitley Richard, 69, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022 after months of declining health. She was born January 13, 1953 in Wake County to the late Levi Hardy Whitley and Pennie Wall Whitley. Cindy graduated from Smithfield Selma High School and retired from GlaxoSmithKline as an Accounts Payable Manager. She was a devoted caregiver to her parents and her family and was a wonderful cook.

She is survived by her children: Neal Ciampa (Tammy), Mandy Parker (Jason), Chris Richard (Mia); grandchildren: Gage, Gavin (Deanna), Zoe, Thad, Braxton, Stella, Sophi, Levi, and Nash; sister, Janice W. Hicks (Dennis); brothers: Marty Whitley (Beth), Randy Whitley (Lisa); as well as four nephews.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Clyde’s Chapel Baptist Church, 16657 Buffalo Road, Wendell, NC 27591. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:45 am and other times at the home of Randy and Lisa Whitley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clyde’s Chapel Baptist Church.
