Christine (Yates) House

Christine Yates House, age 100, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Sunrise of North Hills. She was the oldest child of Alvin N. Yates and Iva Games Yates of Deltaville, Virginia. Christine received her RN from Grace Hospital School of Nursing in Richmond, Virginia in 1945. She met Unice Clifton House of Knightdale while he was serving in the US Navy, they later married in 1945, and were together for 57 years until he passed away in 2002. Christine was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Knightdale, NC.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, March 18, 2024 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale. Burial will follow at the Ferrell-House Family Cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:45 am at the funeral home.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia H. Massey of Chapel Hill; daughter-in-law, Nancy Arnold House of Knightdale; grandchildren: Will Massey (Emily), Wes Massey (Marianne), Eric N. House (Jessy), Kristie H. Lawrence (Andy); great-grandchildren: Cindy Lynn Hodge (Christian), Leighann Massey (fiancé, Joey Dickson), Katie Beth Massey, Trey Massey, Alex Massey, Van Lawrence, and Kaleb Tedder; niece, Tamara Yates and numerous nieces and nephews from the House family.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Christine was preceded in death by her son, Clifton Yates House; son-in-law, Wilbur A. Massey; and sister, Renell Y. Shelton.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff and caregivers at Sunrise of North Hills, and Heartland Hospice, as well as Anita Wilson and her team of aides. They would also like to thank her nephews on Old Ferrell Road for the upkeep of the cemetery.
