C.W. "Zeke" Jones, Jr.

C.W. “Zeke” Jones Jr., 80, passed away Friday, August 20, 2021. He was born October 6, 1940 in Pitt County to the late Charlie Warren Jones, Sr. and Mamie Ree Harris Jones. Zeke made his career in law enforcement with the Raleigh Police Department and retired as a Detective in 1982. He was an active member of Friendship Baptist Church for over 25 years.  He devoted his life to serving his Lord Jesus Christ.  Zeke enjoyed camping as well as spending time with his family. He also enjoyed being “Pop” and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Chisenhall Jones; daughter, Hannah Jones (Randy Gupton); son, Mark Champion (Kaye Champion); grandchildren: Caitlyn Gupton, Cameron Gupton, Catherine Gupton, Jamie Champion, Melissa Champion, Michelle Winehart; great-grandchildren: Mia Winehart, Liam Winehart.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

In addition to his parents, Zeke was preceded in death by his son, James Kirk Jones.
