Betty May (Alford) Williamson

Betty May Alford Williamson, 80, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021. She was born August 21, 1941 in Wake County to the late Valton Alford and Wyvette Snead Alford.  She graduated from Wendell High School in 1959 and attended Jefferson Professional Institute Business School. Betty worked at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA from 1960-1964, the Allaun Corporation, Newport News, VA from 1965-1977, and retired from the State of North Carolina, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. 

A private graveside service will be held at the Williamson Family Cemetery. 

She is survived by her son, Samuel Elbert Williamson, Jr. and wife, Donna; grandsons: Brandon Thomas Williamson, William “Bill” Paul Williamson; sisters: Myrna A. Johnson and Gayle Alford; special nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Elbert Williamson Sr.; son, William Needham "Bill" Williamson II; and a sister, Vickie A. Mitchell.
