Obituary
Betty Jean Gay Watkins, 89, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022 at her home. She was born September 23, 1932 in Wake County to the late William Bennett Gay and Mary Edwards Gay. Betty retired from Westinghouse/ABB and Rex Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, January 13, 2022 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. A private burial will take place at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by her sons: Robert Earl Watkins, Jerry Wayne Watkins and wife, Debbie: daughters: Linda W. Weathington and husband, Allen, Wanda W. Cashwell and husband, Don, Donna W. Hicks and husband, Richard; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Randy Lee Watkins; and husband, Robert Lee Watkins.
