Betty Jane (Spence) Barham

Betty “Jane” Spence Barham, 92, passed away Monday, July 13, 2020. She was born June 5, 1928 in Wake County to the late Bealey Mayden Spence and Lavina Bryant Spence. Jane was a very loving and devoted wife, mother and doting grandmother. She was a member of Hayes Barton Baptist Church, although she was unable to physically attend, she faithfully watched the church TV ministry. 

A graveside service will be held 10:00 am, Friday, July 17, 2020 at Oakwood Cemetery, 701 Oakwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27601. 

Jane is survived by children: John Barham of Raleigh, Deborah Butler (Gary) of Hillsborough,   Craig Barham of Raleigh, Mark Barham of Raleigh; grandchildren: John Grabowski, Jacob Butler (Kristin), Rachel Haley (Joshua), Rebecca Ruano (Aaron), Robert Barham; great-grandchildren: Kori Butler, Cole Butler, Aaton Ruano; brothers: James Spence of Wake Forest, Ernest Spence of Greenville; sister, Carolyn S. Doepner of Greenville, SC. 

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-eight years, Cleveland Reuben “C.R.” Barham; grandson, Jeremy Barham; siblings: Nathan Spence, Margaret Tucker, Katherine Mashburn, Boyd Spence, Eugene Spence, Maxine Spence.
