Anthony Shawn Green

Anthony Shawn Green, 57, passed away at his home on Friday, March 17, 2023 after months of declining health. He was born July 29, 1965 in High Point, NC to the late Roy Hurtis Green and Patsy Marie Blackburn Green. He attended Thomasville High School in Thomasville, NC where he lived in the Mills Home Orphanage and graduated from Murphy High School in Mobile, AL, where he played on the football team. Following graduation Tony honorably served his country in the U S Navy as a telecommunications specialist on aircraft carriers. Anthony was a man of deep faith singing in the church choir. He enjoyed music, especially Tim McGraw. He also loved to go fishing and telling corny jokes, most of all he loved his girls.

He is survived by his girls; Chelsea Langemann and husband, Jamie of Beaufort, Megan Green of Chapel Hill and Alexandria Green and fiancé Trevor Miller of Hickory; grandchildren: Aubrey, Briley, Zariah, Savannah, Marlin, Waylon; brother, Tim Green and wife, Marsha of Lexington, TN; sister, Tamara “Tami” Green Roberts of Mobile, AL; special uncle, Randall Davis of High Point and special friends from Raleigh; Robert Joe Barker, Jr., Jennifer Grace Barker and their children.

In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Blackburn.

Tony’s wishes were to be cremated and to have a private family service.
