Andy was born and raised in Connecticut and graduated from Rockville High School in 1986, and from Central Connecticut State University in 1991. During college, he attended Officer Candidate School of the US Marine Corp (Quantico, VA) and completed platoon leadership certification. Andy’s leadership and his accomplishments resulted in his promotion to the rank of Sergeant prior to his honorable discharge from active duty.

Following his time in the Army, Andy moved to Knightdale, NC with his family, where he lived for 25 years. Until very recently, Andy worked for Abaco Systems as an inside sales associate serving the defense industry. He was extremely knowledgeable in military defense systems and the supply management of these components to major defense contractors. Andy’s interest, appreciation, and knowledge of American history, especially from WWII, was extensive.

Andy loved hunting birds, shooting both skeet and at the range, and fishing. Andy loved the outdoors and nature in general. As a young man, he enjoyed cross-country skiing in New England and his time working at Wickham Park. Andy also enjoyed spending time with his many friends on the Outer Banks. Andy's most memorable and cherished times, were spent with his family each summer for 45 years in New Harbor, ME.
