Andre "Andy" Vance Boyette

October 13, 1951 ~ February 6, 2021 (age 69) 69 Years Old

Obituary

After a courageous battle of almost eight years of pancreatic cancer, Andre “Andy” Vance Boyette died peacefully, Saturday, February 6, 2021, with his family by his side at age 69. Andy was born October 13, 1951, in Knightdale to the late Grover Cedric “GC” Boyette and Willie Grey Boyette. His family moved to Raleigh in 1957, where Andy lived for the rest of his life. Andy was a trusted locksmith throughout Raleigh for many years. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life that included spending time with friends at the cigar shop; baking delicious pies and cakes; dancing to good music; and putting a smile on everyone’s face with a well-placed joke and a contagious belly laugh. Andy dedicated his years battling cancer to spreading hope and comfort throughout the halls of UNC Hospitals. When diagnosed with cancer, Andy found a home at Emmanuel Baptist Church, where he recommitted his life to the Lord. There aren’t enough words to express the gratitude to the years Dr. McRee, Dr. Gwynne, and Dr. Kshirsagar dedicated to Andy’s care and quality of life. Additionally, many thanks to the staff of UNC Hospitals for their compassionate treatment.

A private graveside service will be held at Clyde’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

He is survived by his children: Sandy Boyette, Brandon Boyette, Anna Boyette, and Emily Boyette; brother, Bruce Boyette and wife, Jo Ann; four grandchildren: Elizabeth Pilson, Blake Haberman, Chloe Silverman, and Katrina Silverman; and supportive former wives: Lois Boyette and Pattie Moore-Boyette.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Sheila Boyette.
