Amanda Lou (Varner) Eick

Amanda Lou Varner Eick, 62, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving and caring family. Amanda was born November 10, 1958 in Danville, VA to Julia Ann Brooks Varner and the late James Marshall Varner. Amanda graduated from John Motley Morehead High School in Eden in 1977 and graduated from NC State University with a business degree. She married the love of her life Craig Eick on April 25, 1987. Amanda was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to many.

A service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00 am, Friday, May 7, 2021 at Open Door Church, 9801 Durant Road, Raleigh with the Reverend Eric Garner officiating.

Surviving: husband, Craig; daughters: Julia Ruth Eick, Trina Dale; mother, Julia Ann Brooks Varner; sister, Amy Brooks Varner; nephew, Robert Marshall Bizzelle; niece, Justyce Brooks Bizzelle; and her special dog and constant companion, “Buck”.

The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to UNC Health Foundation, Attn: UNC Lineberger, P.O. Box 1050, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.

In addition to father, Amanda was preceded in death by her brothers: John Stuart Varner, Scott Marshall Varner.
