Wesley Ervin Privette, Jr.

Wesley Ervin Privette, Jr., 85, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at his home. Ervin, Jr. was born October 10, 1932 in Wake County to the late Wesley Ervin Privette, Sr. and Pauline Horton Privette. He graduated from Wendell High School in 1951. He married the love of his life, Joan Nowell Privette on October 11, 1952. Ervin, Jr. was a self-employed store owner in the Lizard Lick Community. Ervin, Jr. made his career as a licensed real estate broker. His favorite pastime was piloting his Cherokee 180 until his health no longer allowed him to fly and was an avid NASCAR fan. Ervin, Jr. was a beloved husband, daddy, brother and friend to many.    

Funeral service 2:00 pm, Friday, March 23, 2018 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery, Wendell.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joan Nowell Privette; son, Wesley Ervin “Wes” Privette III of Wendell; brother, Hilliard Privette of Wendell; nephews: Chip Privette and Larry Privette both of Wendell.

In addition to his parents, Ervin, Jr. was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Mary B. “Mu” Nowell, whom he dearly loved and cared for as if she was his own mother.
