Wallace Weldon Strader, Jr.

Wallace Weldon “Wally” Strader, Jr., 55, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018. Wally was born in Lynchburg, VA on August 7, 1962 to Wallace Weldon Strader, Sr. and Alice Griffith Strader. He graduated from NC State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and received his master’s degree from George Washington University. He served his country in the United States Navy from July 1981-July 1987.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, February 16, 2018 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 8400 Poole Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, Thursday, February 15, 2018 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 and other times at the home of his parents, Wallace and Alice Strader, 104 Meadows Circle, Knightdale, NC 27545.

In addition to his parents, Wally is survived by his brothers: Stephen Douglas Strader (Amy) of Bellevue, Washington and Kevin Ray Strader (Amy) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; nieces: Reagan Strader and Caroline Strader; aunts: Florine S. Lillard (Allen), Frances S. Willis, Mary Jean G. Armstrong; uncles: Henry Travis and Melvin Schroyer; as well as many cousins.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Hill Baptist Church, 10270 Central Hill Road, Windsor, VA 23487 or Bethlehem Baptist Church.
