Vera (Watkins) Joslyn

Vera Watkins Allen Joslyn, 96, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019. She was born December 23, 1922 in Wake County to the late Lorenzo Newsome Watkins and Luetta Bailey Watkins. She graduated in 1940 from Rolesville High School and attended one year at Peace College. Vera and her family had lived in Morehead City, after the death of her husband, B. Frank Allen, Jr. and her son, Frank Russell Allen, she moved back to the family home place in Wake County.                         

Funeral service 2:00 pm,  Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church, 3328 Forestville Road, Raleigh. Burial Raleigh Memorial Park. 

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the church. 

Vera is survived by daughter, Becky Joyce Allen; grandson, Kirk Allen Whitehead (Stephanie); great-grandchildren: Destiny Whitehead and Ariel Whitehead; sister-in-law, Hilda B. Watkins. 

In addition to her parents, husband and son, Vera was also preceded in death by husbands: Chief Hubert Fulcher and Oscar Clark Joslyn; sister: Mamie W. Blackley; brothers: Hubert and Kenneth Watkins; sister-in-law, Annie Belle Watkins. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church.
