2 Corinthians 1:3,4 gives us the assurance that "the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies" is the "God of all comfort" and he "comforts us in all our trials". Please accept my sincere condolences. Always remember God loves you and he cares for you! (Psalm 36:7; 1 Peter 5:7)

Ironically we can't be with you all today as we find ourselves in Hawaii where we have the most wonderful fun-filled memories of time here with Tom! He certainly lit up a room...and any place he was. He will be missed but what smiles his memory brings to our faces! Deepest Sympathy

Dear Billie and Family,
I worked with Tom at the election precinct. He was always nice and helpful to everyone who came to vote.
May God be with you and your family during this difficult time.
Love,
Jane and Bob

Dear Mrs. Holmes and family,

Just want you to know that for the short time I was able to get to know Mr Holmes at Zebulon Rehab., your husband really touched my heart and he was a blessing to me and those around him.

God bless all of you during this time of loss and going home for Mr Holmes. May God fill your hearts with peace and comfort. We are lifting you up in our prayers.

In Christ's love,
Bessie Brantley

We got to know Tom through the Capital Group Sierra Club. He volunteered to be the auctioneer for their annual fundraising event for many years, and his enthusiasm and humor greatly improved the results. He especially enjoyed talking up the personal goods and services donated to the auction - like the vegetables from our garden. Our favorite memory of Tom is when he joined us on a camping/hiking trip to the Horsepasture River in western NC - before it became Jocassee Gorges State Park. He delighted in sharing his trail snacks - Combos pretzels purchased at Big Lots. Several people in our group went sliding on one of the waterfalls along the river. When Tom walked out to the top of the waterfall, the young college kids gathered there politely told him to go first - which gave him a chuckle. There's a great picture of him in mid-air going off that waterfall with his arms raised over his head. That was Tom, always enjoying life to the fullest with a big smile.

Billie and Family,
You are in our thoughts and prayers. We always enjoyed Tom and his wit
during our visits to Wendell. Sorry we are unable to attend the service today.
