Sue (Sawyer) Strickland

Sue Sawyer Strickland, 87, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018. She was born January 7, 1931 in Pasquotank County to the late Redden Sawyer and Mabel White Sawyer Leston. Sue worked at IBM for 17 years. Sue was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church in Raleigh.

Funeral service 3:00 pm, Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Ephesus Baptist Church, 6767 Hillsborough St, Raleigh, NC 27606. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.    

Following the graveside, a reception for family and friends will be held in the Fellowship Hall.

Surviving: daughter, Earline S. Stuck (Dean); grandchildren: Melissa Gibbons (Paul), Melanie Gibbons (Luke), Margie Briggs, William Stuck (Kari), Jim Stuck (Renee′); great-grandchildren: Cora, Mille, Hadley, Mavis; brother, J.C. Sawyer (Iris Ann); sister, Maria Smoot (Jeff); half-brother, Pete Sawyer; niece, Kathleen.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by husband, William Earl Strickland; daughter, Mary Sue Briggs; son-in-law, John Briggs.
