Shirley (Mitchell) Wood

Shirley Mitchell Wood, 79, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018 at her home in Spring Hope. She was born November 20, 1938 in Franklin County to the late Durwood Lellon Mitchell and Myrtle Jackson Mitchell.

Funeral service 3:00 pm, Sunday, October 14, 2018 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, 27545. Burial will follow at the Mitchell Family Cemetery in Zebulon.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at the funeral home.

Surviving: daughter, Sheila Christiansen (Eric) of Spring Hope; grandsons: Adam Lellon Christiansen, Andrew Kyle Christiansen (Kristin); great-grandchildren, Emma Grace Christiansen and Grayson Kyle Christiansen.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Wayne Mitchell.
