Selby Anderson Narron

Selby Anderson Narron, 89, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018. He was born November 30, 1928 in Johnston County to the late Barry Anderson Narron and Leitis Edwards Narron. Selby retired after 42 years of service as a welder with Contech Steel Corporation. He was devoted to his family and friends and loved working in his yard. He had an infectious smile and never met a stranger.

A private family memorial graveside service will be held 1:00 pm, Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, 27603.

Surviving: daughters: Sheila Narron and fiancée, Dan Girard of Raleigh, Kim N. Millsaps and husband, Charles of McLeansville; grandchildren: Laura Cecil (Michael Jennings) of Wilmington, Jennifer Cecil of Raleigh, Kyle A. Millsaps and fiancée, Katie Nelson, Kristen Millsaps all of Gibsonville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Selby was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Narron Narron in 1989; brothers: Leamon and Luby Narron; sister, Ruby N. Whitley.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers contributions be made in Selby’s memory to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL 60601 designate for Research Only or Meals on Wheels of Wake County, 1001 Blair Drive, Suite 100, Raleigh, NC 27603.
