Russell Johnnie Raper, 93, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017. He was born December 25, 1923 in Wilson County to the late Leonard M. Raper and Lillie Carter Raper. Russell honorably served his country in the US Army during WWII. Russell was a master salesman and a great friend to many. 

Funeral service: 2:00 pm, Monday, April 10, 2017 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, 27545. Entombment Oakwood Cemetery. 

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:45 pm at the funeral home and other times at the home of Linda & Phil Braswell, 1116 Harvest Mill Court, Raleigh, 27610. 

Surviving: daughters: Linda R. Braswell (Phil) of Raleigh, Wanda R. Goodwin (Worth) of Raleigh; son, Daniel Conrad Raper (Linda) of Newton; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred S. Raper; grandson, Scott Braswell; 5 brothers and 1 sister.
