Ruby Lee Harris, 87, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving and caring family on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at her home. She was born in Knightdale on October 25, 1929 to the late Thomas William Lee and Ida Elizabeth Faison Lee. She graduated in 1949 from Knightdale High School and from King’s Business College with a two year business degree. She held numerous positions throughout her life, but her greatest accomplishment was a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many.  

Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 30, 2017 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, 27545. Burial Raleigh Memorial Park. 

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the funeral home. 

Surviving: sons: Daniel Michael Harris and wife, Susan of Raleigh, Duane Harris and wife, Teressa of New Hill; daughters: Karen Harris Menhart and husband, Mike of Charlotte, Melinda Harris of Wendell; grandchildren: Brice Harris, Carson Harris, Chase Harris, Ethan Menhart, Andreea Menhart. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Daniel Marshall Harris; brothers: Warren, David, Carl and Paul Lee; sisters: Viola Bagley, Mary Alford and Shirley Stephenson.
