Ronald Ernest Johnson

Ronald Ernest Johnson, 78, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018 with family by his side. He was born March 16, 1940 in Harnett County to the late Brasbey Ernest Johnson and Callie Stephenson Johnson. Ronald served 8 years in the United States Army Reserve. He worked as a Civil Engineer for the NC Department of Transportation and retired with 42 years of service. Ronald’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, gardening and horseback riding at his beloved Oakview Farm in Zebulon.   

Funeral service 2:00 pm, Monday, May 7, 2018 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. Burial will follow at Fellowship Community Cemetery, at the intersection of Zacks Mill Road and Old Fairground Road, Angier, NC 27501.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:45 pm at the funeral home.

Surviving: sons: Ronald Scott Johnson (Sherry) of Greenville, Jason Shawn Johnson of Zebulon; granddaughter, Ava Scott Johnson; mother of his children and caregiver, Brenda Johnson, RN; brother, Donald Johnson (Myra) of Garner; and sister, Patricia Anne Thaxton (Howard) of Burlington.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his sister, Royline Johnson.
