Robert Glenn Lewis

Robert Glenn Lewis, 84, passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, August 13, 2018. He was born January 4, 1934 in Wake County to the late Vasco Earl Lewis and Bessie Alford Lewis. Robert graduated from Knightdale High School in 1952 and honorably served his country in the US Navy, retiring with over 22 years of service.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, August 16, 2018 at New Knightdale Baptist Church Cemetery, Mailman Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 with full military honors.     

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Thursday, August 16, 2018 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.

Surviving: son, Mark Lewis of Goldston; daughter, Marcia Lewis Howell (Wayne) of Acworth, GA; grandchildren: Daniel Driggers; Tanner Howell and Asher Howell; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Curtis Lewis (Sue) of Knightdale; sisters: Frances L. Cooke of Raleigh, Janet L. Hardee (Henry) of Shallotte, and Faye L. Hurst (Julian) of Apex; sister-in-law, Mary Frances Lewis of Raleigh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Heird Lewis; grandson, Robert Glenn Lewis II; sisters: Doris L. Poole, Evelyn L. Godley, and Lyn L. Troxler; brothers: Bill Lewis, Sr. and Stanley Lewis.
