Robert Taylor "Tay" Draughon

Robert Taylor “Tay” Draughon, 78, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018.  He was born October 8, 1939 in Durham, NC. Tay was a graduate of Wakelon High School in Zebulon, retired with 28 years of service with the NC Department of Corrections in the food service division, and was an avid golfer.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, February 2, 2018 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.    

The family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the service.

He is survived by his special and devoted friend of many years, Peggy Peacock of Knightdale; brother and family, Harold Draughon and wife Cindy of Houston, TX, Angela, Ed, and Tatjana Preston of Rockwall, TX, and Leslie, Luis, Harper and Grace Ramos of Garden City, NY; nephew and family Tim and Diane Draughon, Dee Dee, Michael, Craig, and Grayson Vacher, and Tim, Emily, Sadie and Claire Draughon all of Durham, NC; and great-nephew and family, Andrew, Rachel, and Charlie Draughon of Chapel Hill, NC.

In addition to his parents, Julia Mitchell and Andrew Smoot Draughon, he was preceded in death by his brother, Andrew Draughon.
