Obituary

Matt Miller was born October 23rd, 1966 in Chicago, IL to Bob Miller and Kaye Miller. Matt moved to Denver when he was 3 weeks old, then to California when he was two and back to Denver in 1969. In 1970 he became big brother, “Bub”, to Kelly Miller. 

In 1980 Matt and his family moved to Hooker, Oklahoma, Matt went to Hooker High school where he loved to play football. He played tackle on both defense and offense. In Hooker, Matt met many lifelong friends that he kept in touch with. 

After graduating high school in 1985 he joined the Navy and served his country for 10 years. While serving, he found the love of his life, Traci. In 1991 Matt and Traci were united in marriage. In 1995, they welcomed twin daughters: Lauren and Ashlee that were the light of his life. 

Due to the girls love of softball, Matt became Head Coach to the East Wake Spirits. He touched many lives throughout his coaching career and helped so many accomplish their goals both on and off the field. He was more than just a coach to so many of his players. 

Afterward, Matt started a new career as a controls engineer and was smart as a whip, he worked for several companies but he was most ecstatic to work for Accellus in Apex, NC. Matt was an avid Arkansas Razorback and Oakland Raiders fan but he put his family first and loved his three girls. 

Matt is preceded in death by his Father Robert Lee Miller. 

Matt is survived by the love of his life of 27 years, Traci Miller of Zebulon, NC, his two daughters: Lauren Elizabeth Miller and fiancé Zac Roberts; Ashlee Miller of Greensboro NC, his mother, Kaye Miller of Guymon, Oklahoma; his brother, Kelly Miller of Guymon, Oklahoma; his nephew, Bailey Miller of Guymon, Oklahoma; his mother-in-law, Marge Jamison of Richmond, Virginia, his father- in-law, Robert Jamison, his 2 nieces: Campbell Jamison and Reagan Jamison of Richmond, Virginia. 

The family will receive friends and relatives at a visitation from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, January 19th, 2019 at L. Harold Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, NC 27545. 

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, January 20th, 2019 at 3:00 pm at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758512, Topeka Kansas 66675-8512.
