Mariusz Leonard Poppe

Mariusz Leonard “Lenny” Poppe, 69, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018. He was born October 22, 1948 in Germany to the late Alfred Poppe and Irena Thumm Poppe. Lenny honorably served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 6, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2817 Poole Road, Raleigh, 27610.

He is survived by his daughters: Jennifer Poppe Congleton (John) of Youngsville, Anna Poppe Tush (Andrew) of VA, and Melissa Poppe of Morrisville; his grandchildren: Morgan Congleton, Jackson and Leo Tush; his sisters: Basia Amerson (Tom) of TN and Lidia Hublikar (Sudhir) of GA; and his brother, George Poppe (Barbara) of SC.

In addition to his parents, Lenny was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Carpenter Poppe.
