Lynward Joseph “Lyn” Ayscue, 75, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017. Lyn was born March 24, 1942 in Wake County to the late Marvin Joseph Ayscue and Nannie Perry Ayscue. He retired from the Army National Guard with over 43 years of honorable service.  

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.  Entombment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 809 W. Gannon Avenue, Zebulon, NC 27597 with full military honors.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at the funeral home.

Surviving: daughter, Stephanie Dawn Adamczyk of Sanford; son, Van Joseph Ayscue (Jillian)of Raleigh; stepson, Hank Nalley (Brenda) of Raleigh; grandchildren, Jonathan Harris, Steven Nalley, Hunter Nalley; great-grandson, J.W. Harris; brother, Tommy Ayscue of Rolesville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Ruth Adams Ayscue and sister, Carolyn Rose Ayscue.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Victory Junction Camp, 4500 Adam’s Way, Randleman, NC 27317.
