Linda “Ann” Anderson Thompson, 83, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017 after many months of declining health. Linda was born February 23, 1934 to the late Elliott Oscar Anderson and Alice Irene Whittenten Anderson of Baltimore, Maryland, they later moved to Roanoke Rapids where Ann was raised. She retired as an Executive Secretary with the Southern Association of Schools & Colleges of NC. As long as her health permitted, she was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church.              

A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 824 N. Bloodworth St., Raleigh, 27604. Burial Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh, 27603.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:45 in the church parlor.

Surviving: husband, Henry “Luke” Clement Thompson, Jr.; daughters: Linda Mullen (Jeff) of Raleigh, Laura Cook (Kenny) of Sylva; son, Clint Thompson (Kim) of Des Moines, IA; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters: Penny Laster, Faye Carmichael and Carol McNutt.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her first husband, James Vance Creech; brother, Eddie Anderson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church.

The family would like to thank Transitions LifeCare and the staff of the Cottage at Spring Arbor for the kindness and care given to Ann and the family throughout her illness.
