I am so sorry to hear about Laura. I am sure she fought a courageous battle up until the very end. She was a great university employee, especially to DELTA and its partners, faculty, and students. She will be missed. Her smile would light up a room.

I was simply heartbroken to hear this news. I know she was such a blessing to those around her and a joy to all of you. She and Jeannie were such a part of my childhood and youth that I will always remember, and I know that hers was a life well-lived - “Job well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23. She will be sorely missed. I extend to you my most heartfelt sympathy during this time and pray that you will come to find peace and rest in the days and weeks to come. I will be thinking of you.

We were very sad to hear of Laura's passing but we know she is in a better place now. She was wonderful person to work with at NC State, always willing to lend a hand and help in anyway possible. Her smile was always a joy to see! She will be truly missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I am glad that Laura is no longer suffering but it is still hard to accept her loss. May God wrap His loving arms around you and give you peace. I know that Jeannie and Mr. Bierce have welcomed her into heaven. She will always live on in the hearts of those she loved and that loved her.

I had the honor of knowing and working with Laura for over 10 years. I first met Laura when she was working at Engineering Online and was an early adopter of the technology my company makes. Over the years we become friends and she became part of the family at Sonic Foundry. Laura was always so forward thinking and passionate about her work; she inspired all of us to do more, be better. She was a kind and gentle spirit, but with a determination unlike most. She will be sorely missed. I am a better person for having known and worked with her.

There are people that cross our paths in life that make us better for knowing them. Laura was one of those people. What I always admired about Laura was her constant positive approach to everything. When there were challenges for her, she would always look for the positive. She truly cared about helping other people and she was an amazingly hard working person. She was a good listener, and as both of us are moms of daughters not too far apart in age, we had some wonderful conversations about what our families mean to us. Ashley, your mom loved you fiercely, and was so, so very proud of you. And who wouldn't be? You are a smart, beautiful young woman and you were a joy to your mom, and she will always be with you. Carry that with you in the days and years to come that she will always be that voice in your head when you need advice. You all will remain in our thoughts and prayers.
