Obituary

Kristin Leigh Fromm, 44, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Wake Med. Kristi was born with severe motor impairments and medical issues caused by Cerebral Palsy, however, we, her family always felt that her soul and spirit were just about perfect. She knew how to love and accept love. Her sparkling eyes and sweet smile drew people to her. She enjoyed one-on-one interaction more than anything and always wanted to have another person with her to help enjoy things to the fullest. For the most part she brought out the good in people – those who knew her a long time and those who only met her briefly. Her life was often difficult due to needed tests, treatments and surgeries, but she was tough and usually came through those things better than we expected. Through her we met numerous compassionate and caring persons in the medical profession who went the limit to try to make her life better. She had years of educational experiences in classes for students with special needs, lots of travel visiting family and friends and trips to those important places like Disney World, Grand Ole Opryland, Washington, DC and New York City. She loved those road trips in the co-pilot position beside her Dad up front in the van. Her favorite holiday was birthdays and it didn’t matter whose it was. She just loved the Happy Birthday song and candles on a cake. When we needed extra help with Kristi’s care she was blessed with a whole new source of friends. Home health nurses were caregivers and special friends, who came to love her, and she them. They gave her capable care with kindness and compassion and as her world became more confined, they made it more interesting and fun. We will be forever grateful to Beverly, Kathy, Deborah, and Kerrin who in these later years, gave their competent compassionate care to Kristi and their understanding and support to us, her parents. She enjoyed Church and Sunday School as long as her health permitted –especially the music. Music always made things go better, whether a medical treatment or her routine care. She loved all kinds of music—especially when Mama would sing along. Bedtime was for singing about her Heavenly Father and Jesus, who love her even more than we do and with whom she now lives.

We are so happy, for her knowing that she can now do all that she couldn’t do in this life, but we are so sad for ourselves, that she will be with us only in our cherished memories until we join her.

For our wonderful family, our faithful church, our dear Christian Friends, and all who cared about her, your love for Kristi and all you have done to bring joy to her life, and the prayers you have prayed on her behalf, well….there just aren’t enough words.
