Josephine “Jo” Goodwin Fidler, 94, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017. She was born February 25, 1923 in Wake County to the late Henry Macon Goodwin and Essie Stone Goodwin Bailey. Jo worked for 30 years as a meter assembler at Westinghouse. As long as her health permitted she was a faithful member of Milner Memorial Presbyterian Church.

A service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Milner Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1950 New Bern Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27610. Burial Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the church parlor.

Surviving: daughter, Betsy Fidler Nelson (Bobby) of Knightdale; grandsons: Bobby Hunter Nelson (Wendy) of Kitty Hawk, William Conway Nelson (Tanya Lynne) of Apex; great-grandchildren: Taylor Wesley Nelson and Benjamin Chase Nelson.   

In addition to her parents, Jo was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Wesley Hunter Fidler; siblings: Margaret “Peggy” Jones, Rebecca Morris, Henry Macon Goodwin, Grace Lisk,   Walter Goodwin, Notie Jones, Julie Ellis, Victoria Jones.
