Joseph Thomas Coker, Jr.

Joseph Thomas Coker, Jr., 94, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018. He was born May 16, 1924 in Warren County to the late Joseph Thomas Coker, Sr. and Mable Welch Coker. Joe honorably served his country in the US Army.  He was a salesman by trade and retired from Lubrication Engineers of Texas.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, January 4, 2019 at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27612.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm in the mausoleum chapel.

Surviving: wife, Gladys Hite Satterwhite Coker; children: Mary Claire & Buster Caulder of Harrisburg, Betty Jo & Ray Jones of Oxford, Walter & Libby Coker of Charlotte; grandchildren: Lennie and Jeff Latham of Harrisburg, Britt & Julie Caulder of Harrisburg, Amy & Hunter Bryant of Ararat, Jason & Tasha Coker of Ottawa, Canada; great-grandchildren: Samantha Latham, Wilbur Bryant, William Bryant, Hadleigh Bryant, Kensley Coker; sisters: Betsy Eaves and Jo C. Taylor; step-children: Patricia & Harold Fowler of Fuquay, Robert & Gerladine Satterwhite of Wake Forest, Marian & Dave Raaf of Lakes of Ozarks, MO, Gail & Jim Massey of Knightdale; step-grandchildren: Tammy & Curt Maas, Julie & Justin Murphy , Benjamin Raaf, Robbie Satterwhite, Logan Hicks; step-great-grandchildren: Faith Clark, Jack Clark, Adeline Murphy, Tate Murphy, Aubree Foil.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Cecil Coker; sisters: Mable Louise Ayscue and Jean C. Allen.
