John Robert Haywood, 81, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017. He was born February 26, 1936 in Chesapeake, VA to the late Lue Raymond Haywood and Louise Virginia Kersey Haywood. He graduated from UNC Chapel Hill and went on to work in the Industrial Real Estate business, he later drove cars for Lexus. 

Funeral service 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Longview Baptist Church, 2308 N. New Hope Rd, Raleigh, 27604. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park. 

The family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday, December 8, 2017 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, 27545. 

Surviving: wife, Joyce Gregg Haywood; sons: Robert Stephen Haywood of Atlanta, GA, Raymond Lawrence Haywood of Melbourne, FL.; daughters: Suzanne Haywood Easterwood (Ralph) of Fort Collins, CO, Kathleen Haywood Wilson (James) of Stockbridge, GA, Christine Haywood Edwards (Steve) of Apex, Lynn Haywood Herndon (Ron) of Acworth, GA; brothers: Lue Raymond Haywood (Mark) of Norfolk, VA, Dr. Ralph Wilson Haywood (Betsy) of Kissimmee, FL.; sister, Mary Lou Simpson of Gloucester, Va; grandchildren: Candace Wilson Konicki, Christy Louise Wilson, Duckie Wilson Heath, Samantha Carol Easterwood, John Carl Easterwood, Chelsea Joyce Dennis, Robert Anthony Wood, Kassy Lynn Edwards, Tracy Kim Edwards; 7 great-grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Longview Baptist Church.
