God will sustain you with his right hand of righteousness" during this difficult time. Isaiah 41:10 says: "Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be anxious, for I am your God. I will fortify you, yes, I will help you, I will really hold on to you with my right hand of righteousness". Isaiah 41:13; I "am grasping your right hand, the One (God) saying to you,...'I will help you'". Please accept my sincere condolences. Always remember God loves you and he cares for you! (Psalm 36:7; 1 Peter 5:7)

It was my good fortune to have worked with Jerry for many years at Archives and History. He was a thorough, exacting historian and a generous and thoughtful colleague. I often refer back to his documentation on the many historic buildings he researched over the years. My condolences to Carolyn, daughters, and grandchildren.

For 17 years I worked in the office beside Jerry's at Archives and History. He was a model employee, diligent, analytical, and always ready to share his depth of knowledge on NC history. And a good fellow all the way round. My condolences to his family.
