Jane (Blackwell) Holden

Jane Blackwell Holden, 91, passed away at her home on Friday, August 9, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Dorsey and Tazzie Frazier Blackwell. Jane retired from Schrader-Bellows in Wake Forest and was a member of Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church. Jane was an avid gardener, cook and baker. Her chocolate pound cake was the family favorite. Jane’s delicious desserts were always requested by the Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church circle group. She was a member of the Northern Wake Senior Center line dancing team, winning a gold medal in the Wake County and State senior games. Jane was a remarkable and loving grandmother. She was a wonderful combination of warmth, kindness and laughter. 

Funeral service 2:00 pm, Monday, August 12, 2019 at Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church, 3328 Forestville Road, Raleigh, NC 27616. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. 

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 1:45 pm at the church. 

Jane is survived by her husband of 40 years, Everett Russell Holden; step-children: Wayland Holden (Laura), Teresa Holden; grandchildren: Marcie Holden, Neil Holden; great-grandchild, Wylder Holden; brother, A.D. Blackwell; sisters: Yvonne Weeks, Betty Pegram; many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her son, Glenn Critcher, Jr.; sisters: Adelle Bentley and Gwendolyn Winston. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church.
