Herbert Arthur Green, Jr., 84, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019 at home surrounded by loved
ones. He was born March 10, 1935 in Stockholm, Maine to the late Herbert Green, Sr. and Hazel
(Johnson). Herbert honorably served his country in the US Marine Corps, and was a proud Korean
War veteran. He retired after 36 years with Sweet Life Foods, and was a member of the Truck
Drivers Hall of Fame for clocking over 8 million miles of accident and citation free driving. He was a
member of Teamsters Union Local 559. Herb loved Snoopy, puzzle books, and watching Pawn Stars,
American Pickers, and Andy Griffith.
Surviving: wife, Brenda (Watson); children: Richard, Russell (Karen), Susan, and Heidi (Erik);
Grandchildren: Richard, Nicole, Jeremiah, and Emily; great grandchildren, Sydney, Owen, and
Russell Jonathan; siblings Alice, Betty, Albert and Nancy. Also many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Herbert was preceded in death by his siblings Maryann, William, Carolyn,
Robert, Sonny, Richard, and Russell, and step-siblings Mavis, Gerald, and Wendell.
In accordance with Herb’s wishes, funeral services will not be held at this time. A family gathering
will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kindred
Hospice Foundation and/or any veteran’s organizations.
