Frances (Congleton) Croom

The world lost another of The Greatest Generation this morning, but Heaven has gained a true angel. Frances Congleton Croom, 94, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018.  She was born March 1, 1924 in Johnston County to the late James Henry Congleton and Polly Ann Richardson Congleton. She retired with 17 years of service as a Quality Control Tester with Square D.

Funeral service 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Zebulon United Methodist Church, 121 West Gannon Ave, Zebulon, NC 27597. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 809 West Gannon Ave, Zebulon, NC 27597.

The family will receive relatives and friends 6:00 to 7:30 pm,  Monday, July 2, 2018 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 and other times at her home, 824 Moss Road, Zebulon, NC 27597

Surviving: daughter, Barbara C. Pearce of Zebulon; grandson, Kevin Pearce (Kimberly) of Raleigh; great grandchildren, Ashley and Colin; sisters in law, Betty Congleton of Raleigh, and Chris Croom Moss of Pittsboro; and her special dog Sparky.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Lumis Clifton Croom; grandson, Ken Pearce; sister, Rosa Lee C. O’Neal; and her brothers, James Congleton, Charles Congleton, and Albert “AB” Congleton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zebulon United Methodist Church or Transitions Life Care, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
