Ethel Delorise (Mills) Eason

Ethel Delorise Mills Eason, 75, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018, after a battle with Parkinsons Disease. She was born November 12, 1943, in Polk County, FL to the late Columbus Mills and Mattie Wiggins Mills Oliver. 

Ethel moved around a bit growing up going from Florida to Georgia to North Carolina. She later spent time in Massachusetts and California before settling back in North Carolina. She moved to Wendell in 1973 residing in Ridge Haven for the last 45 years.

She spent 30 years working in various roles with the State of North Carolina before retiring to devote more time to volunteering with various church programs at Central Baptist Church in Wendell. She enjoyed working with preschoolers, teaching Sunday School, assisting with Vacation Bible School and mentoring young women through Apples of Gold.

Ethel always had a kind word for the people around her and will be fondly remembered for her sweet and caring disposition. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who cared deeply for her family.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Saturday, November 17, 2018, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, 27545.

The Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, November 18, 2018, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.

She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Jerry Eason; daughters, Wendy Estes of Zebulon; Lynne Robin Estes of Riverside, CA; sons: Michael John Estes, Jr. (Michelle) of Moore, SC; Nicholas Paul Estes of Wendell; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and sister: Dorothy M. Munden of Four Oaks.          

In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by sister, Laverne Brooks.
