Elwood “Woody” Melvin Foor, age 78, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017.  He was born April 8, 1939, in Gladwin MI, to the late Melvin Emerson Foor and Nellie Violet Hetherington.He retired with 29 years of service with Dow Corning Corporation.                                                                                           

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Beacon Baptist Church, 2110 Trawick Road, Raleigh, NC 27604.   

The family will receive family and friends prior to the service from 12:00 - 1:00 at the church.

Burial; Maplewood Cemetery, 504 S. Smith Street, Clayton, NC 27527.

Surviving: Wife, W. Candy Koehler Foor; son, Layne Foor (Sandy) of Raleigh NC; daughters, Shelly Romig (Brian) of Dallas TX, Becky Payne (Jeff) of Clayton NC; grandchildren, John Romig, Mitchell Payne, Mark Romig, Layne Foor Jr, Stacey Romig, Tucker Payne, Levi Foor, and Samantha Payne; brothers, Bernard and John Foor of Gladwin MI; sisters, Joyce Brubaker and Debra Keister, both of Midland MI.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Foor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Baptist Church, c/o The Christmas Fund.
