Dusty Truslow Cox, of Raleigh, NC, passed on June 9, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Washington, DC in 1946, Dusty was the daughter of the late John W. Truslow and Sarah E. Truslow. She graduated from Broughton High School in 1965 and married Russell Lee Cox on September 10, 1966 in Raleigh, NC.

Dusty loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters. She always looked forward to family vacations at the beach. She was a children’s leader at Bible Study Fellowship for many years. All of the children she taught held a special place in her heart. Dusty was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a loyal and generous friend to many throughout her life.

In addition to her best friend and loving husband of 50 years, Lee, Dusty is survived by her son, John Russell Cox and his wife, Candler Vaughn Cox of Winston-Salem, NC; granddaughters: Abby Elizabeth Cox, Katherine Ann Cox, and Cooper Eleanor Cox all of Winston-Salem, NC; her brother, Philip Hux Burton, of Raleigh, NC and niece, Melissa Burton Ragan and husband, David Michael Ragan, Jr., of Raleigh, NC. Dusty is also survived by many wonderful and supportive friends.

The family will be greeting friends and relatives Tuesday, June 13th from 3:00 – 6:00 pm in The Fellowship Hall at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 7506 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh, NC 27615.
