So sorry to learn of Allene's passing. Wish I could have been with you. Always loved her and could remember her & Louis' wedding anniversary as it was just after I was born & they came by to see me on their honeymoon. My kids will never forget all the trips to the strawberry farm & eating almost as many berries as we picked, but they new your Mama wouldn't say a thing about it! i still use her recipes from those days. My Mama, her Aunt Melba, loved Allene & all her siblings like her own & treasured all those trips & "adventures" with Allene & Carrie. They even named themselves the "Golden Girls". I have admired Allene since I was a little girl, which was a long time ago. She was such a beautiful lady inside and out! Her company was always such a pleasure. So glad to have many wonderful memories of our times spent together, because I definitely will miss her! Sending my condolences to all the family. Thinking of you.
