Alice (Haswell) Gay

Alice Haswell Gay, 96, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018. She was born January 26, 1922 in Granville County to the late Gratis Haswell and Melenia Allen Haswell. She worked as a seamstress with Devil Dog Manufacturing. 

Graveside service 11:00 am, Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Greenmount Cemetery, 536 W. Academy Street and 0 Industrial Drive, Wendell.    

Public viewing Friday, July 20, 2018 between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, 27545. 

Surviving: grandsons: Anthony Murray (Gwendolyn) of Rocky Mount, Jason Gay of Wendell; great-grandson, Dustin Anthony Murray of Louisburg; daughter-in-law, Judy Gay of Wendell; sister-in-law, Louise Haswell of Wendell. 

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Gay, Sr.;  son, Benjamin Drexel Gay; daughter, Patricia Ann Walston; sister, Frances H. Miller; brothers: L.C. Haswell and Alpheus Haswell.
