Velma Liza Eason Painter, 89, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2022. She was born in Johnston County to the late William Avery Eason and Lela Bass Eason Carroll. She graduated in 1951 from Corinth Holders High School and she received a business degree from Hardbarger Business College. Velma worked part-time for 30 years with the NC Department of Revenue.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm, Sunday, July 3, 2022 at Clyde’s Chapel Baptist Church, 16657 Buffalo Rd, Wendell with Pastor Jay Smoot and Rev. Robert Cooke officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 2:00 to 2:45 pm in the church fellowship hall.
She is survived by daughter, Kammie “Renay” P. Barham (Dennis); son, Kent Titus Painter; grandchildren: Parker Barham (Lindsey), Jordan Barham (Rita).
In addition to her parents, Velma was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Titus “Tite” Painter; sisters: Virginia Eason, Lottie E. Adams and Elgie E. Watson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clyde’s Chapel Baptist Church Building Fund.
