Perry Wells Wylie

Perry Wells Wylie, 65, gained his heavenly home on Sunday, February 21, 2021. He was born September 20, 1955 in Germany and was adopted by his loving parents, Eugene Boyce Wylie and Sarah Wells Wylie. Perry graduated from Southview High School in Hope Mills, NC, and Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. After graduating from college and becoming an ordained minister, he worked in the Lord’s service in Goshen, IN. After moving to NC, Perry began his career with the Town of Wendell in public utilities and was currently working with the City of Raleigh. He continued serving the Lord as a member of Heritage Baptist Church for 32 years, where he served in many capacities including Sunday school teacher, bus ministry, church choir, Awanas/Masters Club, and deacon. He was an avid sports enthusiast and a true blue Tarheel fan.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Vickie Myers Wylie; daughter, Sarah Wylie; twin brother, Terry Wylie; brother, Gene Wylie (Naomi); in-laws: Melinda Deans (Keith), Ricky Myers (Beverly), Randy Myers (Gerri), Michael Myers, Rick Bryan (Barbara); nieces and nephews: Amber Cook (Josh), Kim Johnson (Donnie), Megan Wylie, Nathan Wylie, Brian Wylie (Kelsey), Jeremy Deans, Nathan Deans (Britiany), Jesse Deans (Kaylynn), Zachary Deans, Peyton Myers, Matthew Myers, Brandon Myers, Justin Myers, Ryan Myers; great-nieces and nephews: Grant, Elsi, Bentley, Brooks, Remi; special friends: Steve Vinson, Harrell and Debbie Clark, Cynthia and Kyle Higginbotham, Alex, Sarah, Janta and Richie Vargas, Barb Wylie, Monique Shafer, Sydney, Kendall, Bryce, Lauren Dew; as well as all of his friends in Christ at Heritage Baptist Church and his co-workers at the City of Raleigh.               

In addition to his parents, Perry was preceded in death by his mother and father-in law: Jessie and Barbara Myers.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Heritage Baptist Church, 615 Mack Todd Road, Zebulon, NC 27597. The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the church. Please wear a face covering and practice social distancing to ensure everyone’s safety. For those unable to attend, the service will be live streamed and can be viewed at hbc-nc.org
