Michael Wayne Jones

Michael “Wayne” Jones, 70, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021. He was born October 31, 1950 in Wake County to Lucille Jones Wilder and the late Garland Jones. Wayne attended Millbrook High School prior to joining the US Navy where he honorably served his country. He worked as a long haul truck driver and also worked at International Paper Company in Raleigh. 

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Monday, May 17, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, 4301 Louisburg Rd, Raleigh. 

Wayne is survived by his mother, Lucille Jones Wilder; sisters: Bonnie Smith, Peggy Shearon (Paul); nieces: Kim Shearon, Amy Shearon, Tammy Cryder; great-niece, Taylor Cryder; as well as his extended family and friends.   

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
