Mark McKinley Mankey, 70, passed away February 15, 2021, at his home in Knightdale, NC. He was born on January 23, 1951 and lived with his parents, Floyd Jack Mankey and Mary M. Livingston, in various locations around the U.S. He was in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1973, after which he attended Mesa Community College and Arizona State University- Mesa. From 1977 to 1990, he worked as a waiter and later as manager of the Dash Inn Restaurant in Tempe, Arizona, where he met his future wife, Karen G. Dicks. They moved to Raleigh, NC in 1996 to be near Karen’s family. It was there Mark began a 24-year career as a printer services technician and later as a team leader for companied in the Research Triangle Park, including IBM, Pitney-Bowes, Novitex and Ricoh. Mark is survived by his wife Karen and their beloved dogs, Ginger and Hope.
Mark’s wishes were to be cremated and no services will be held at this time.
