Luther Howard Perry

Luther Howard Perry age 79, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, October 9, 2021. Luther left behind two daughters: Lisa P. Anderson and her husband, James of Holden Beach, Darlene P. Lewis and her husband, Jerry of Rolesville; grandchildren: Samantha Womble of Wake Forest, Jonathan Lewis of Oxford, Garrett Bodenhamer of Rolesville, Justin Bodenhamer of Raleigh; great-grandchildren: Emerson and Easton Womble of Wake Forest. He also leaves behind two sisters: Mary Lee Price of Zebulon, Josephine Alford of Zebulon and Roscoe Perry of Raleigh. 

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC and other times at the home.

A service to celebrate his life will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rolesville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Luther was a lifetime farmer and sausage producer. He was the owner of Perry’s Farm Sausage until the time of his death. He was a Founding Officer of the Rolesville Rescue Squad and a member of the Rolesville Volunteer Firefighters. Luther was awarded the First Citizens Award for the Town of Rolesville in 1997. Luther knew everyone in Rolesville and surrounding areas and was loved by all. 

He was preceded in death by his parents: Luther Bryant Perry and Rosa Perry; his wife of 58 years, Edith Louise King Perry who he cared for the last years of her life; sisters: Nora P. Buffaloe, Doris P. Hurt and brother, Crocker Perry. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rolesville Baptist Church Building Fund, 203 E Young St, Rolesville, NC 27571.
