Joanne Faith (Murray) Keene

Notice of change of address: I received a call from God that my new house was ready, and I could move in immediately. I just didn’t have time to give you notice. My new home is finished and it’s such a beautiful sight to behold! There is no more pain, nor care of the world to bear, only sweet serenity. I recommend that you make plans to live here too. I don’t have a telephone yet, but just call God. If you don’t have His number, He is listed in the Bible on every page and is waiting to hear from you. 

Joanne Faith Murray Keene, 84, passed away Monday, September 19, 2022, after months of declining health. She was born February 23, 1938, in Franklin County to the late Charlie Murray and Rennie Gay Murray. Joanne retired with over 20 years of service from Carolina Handling, LLC. 

A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, September 26, 2022, at Hephzibah Baptist Church Chapel, 1794 Wendell Blvd., Wendell, NC 27591. 

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:45 pm at the church. 

A private inurnment will be held at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Zebulon at a later date. 

Joanne is survived by her daughters: Tina Sprenkle (Ken), Toni K. O’Connell; grandchildren: Michelle Cullen, Tara Hale (Philip), Orin P. O’Connell, Caelan J. O’Connell; five great-grandchildren; brother, Vic Murray (Billie); sisters: Billie Alford (Billy), Brenda Pierce, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Burns Keene and brother, Tony Murray (Janie). 

Our family is grateful to Medi Home Health and Hospice for their enduring care for our mom.
