Jan Webb was born on April 8, 1955 to the late Corine Robinson and Thomas Robinson, Sr. in Rock Hill, SC. Jan was the oldest of five children.
Jan was a member and attended Watts Chapel and served on the Hospitality Committee. She was also a member of the National Council of Negro Women, the Black Pearls Book Club and the Slide and Glide Bowling Team.
Jan’s professional career was devoted to making significant contributions to a number of DC’s high-profile law firms, as well as in Wilmington, DE and RTP, NC as a legal secretary and retired in 2012.
She loved to travel, read, cook, bowl and attend movies. She enjoyed life and loved decorating her homes according to her flair and impeccable style. Jan was a generous and giving individual and a loyal friend to many. She loved and was loved by her many longtime friends in Maryland, Delaware and North Carolina.
Jan leaves to cherish her memory: daughters: Sabrina Robinson, Aprilyn Robinson; son, Christopher Robinson; grandchildren: Ebony Robinson, Curtis Robinson, J’Vonne McClain; sisters: Rosie Peterson, Aretha Robinson, Yolanda Scott; brother, Thomas Robinson, Jr. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Toussaint Webb.
Though Jan’s physical presence on this earth will be missed, her spirit will live on forever in the hearts of all who loved her. She “CHOSE TO DANCE” and will NEVER be forgotten.
A celebration of Jan’s life will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Watts Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 3703 Tryon Road, Raleigh 27606.
The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the church.
